Dane County is home to over 500,000 residents in more than 60 cities, villages, and towns. From lively downtowns and businesses to beautiful woodlands and gently rolling agricultural fields, we are proud to encompass communities of all shapes and sizes.
Catholic Charities was founded in 1946 and is a private, non-profit organization serving people in an 11 county area in south-central Wisconsin. The agency helps people of all ages deal with mental health issues, face transitions in life, reach for their potential despite special challenges, heal from abuse or addiction and secure emergency services.
The Beacon homeless day resource center is a public – private partnership working to provide community solutions to help men, women, and children who are experiencing homelessness in Dane County, Wisconsin. In 2016 Dane County purchased the building that previously housed the Madison Chamber of Commerce with plans to renovate it and turn it into a day resource center for the homeless.
The Tenant Resource Center is a nonprofit, membership organization dedicated to promoting positive relations between rental housing consumers (tenants) and providers (landlords) throughout Wisconsin. By providing information and referrals, education about rental rights and responsibilities, and access to conflict resolution, we empower the community to obtain and maintain quality affordable housing.
